Keyven Lewis was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He was raised by two strong women, his mother and grandmother, and graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt high school in 1987.
He attended Prairie View A&M University (PVU), where he studied computer science with minors in Mathematics and Naval Science. After his freshman year, he left PVU to join the U.S. Navy to fulfill his desire to serve in an enlisted role before pursuing a commission as a naval officer. During his recruit training, Mr. Lewis obtained the Navy League Award given to the most outstanding recruit during naval boot camp. Opting not to pursue a career as a commissioned officer in the US Navy in his senior year, Mr. Lewis decided to pursue a career in corporate America.
His academic accomplishments include certifications in several delivery leadership, and executive leadership programs. He has successfully obtained subsequent degrees in Information Technology (Bachelors), Business Administration (Masters), and has completed 41 credit hours towards a Doctorate of Business Administration with focus on organizational leadership.
Mr. Lewis went on to work for Texas Instruments (TI) which afforded him the opportunity to work internationally in many foreign countries, including France, Italy, Japan, and Germany. After five years of service, Mr. Lewis left TI and went on to work for Perot Systems for the next 13 years. He was again blessed to work abroad visiting England, Ireland, and India. During his tenure at Perot Systems he had risen to the position of Account Infrastructure Director, managing the I.T. infrastructure, for the company’s second largest commercial account worth $275 million in revenue. In 2009, Perot Systems was acquired by Dell Inc. where Mr. Lewis currently works as the EMR CSD Transition and Strategy Leader, with 16-year tenure, within the company’s healthcare division.
Throughout his professional career, Mr. Lewis has been involved in several entrepreneurial endeavors, including owning his own travel agency (The Main Event Travel), independent record label (Starlicity Records), I.T. services company (Venardis Enterprises), and sports agency (Venardis Sports). His latest accomplishment has been the creation of The Keyven Lewis Foundation which is a 501c3 certified non-profit organization based on biblical instructions and the “Pay It Forward” principal.
Mr. Lewis serves as a member of the board of directors for The Chocolate MINT Foundation, advisory council member for the Salvation Army (Cedar Crest Corps), the Chairman on New Beginning Covenant Ministry’s board of directors, and Executive Pastor of the same church.
